Secret Santa Generator: Draw Names Online for Free
Draw names for your gift exchange in seconds. Everyone gets a private message with only their own match — even the organizer can join in.
Secret Santa Generator
Enter everyone's name, draw, then send each person only their own message.
How the Secret Santa draw works
Enter every participant, one per line, and optionally a gift budget. The generator shuffles all names into one circle: each person gives to the next one. That way nobody draws themselves and no two people simply swap gifts. The draw runs only in your browser — names are not uploaded or stored.
Send each person only their own match
After the draw you see the participants, not the pairs. Next to each name you can share or copy that person's message ("Hi Anna! You are the Secret Santa for Ben.") and send it privately by WhatsApp, text or email. Because the pairs stay hidden, the organizer can take part without knowing who gives to whom.
Rules that keep a gift exchange fun
Agree on a budget and stick to it — 10 to 25 is typical for colleagues, more among close friends. Set a date when gifts are exchanged and say whether you reveal who gave what. Ask everyone for one wish or one no-go (allergies, alcohol, clutter). And plan the exchange itself: a party with a bring list makes sure there are snacks and drinks, not just presents.
FAQ
- Can someone draw their own name?
- No. The names are arranged in one random circle and everyone gives to the next person, so drawing yourself is impossible.
- Can the organizer take part too?
- Yes. The pairs are never shown in a list — you only send each person their own message, so the organizer doesn't learn the matches.
- How many people do I need?
- At least three. With two people there is no secret, because each knows who drew them.
- Are the names saved anywhere?
- No. The draw happens in your browser only. If you close the page, draw again — the old pairs are gone.
